Kathi Kelley is the latest LIPS Queen of Hearts winner at The Bicycle Hotel & Casino in Bell Gardens, CA. With only one entry of $130, she played down to a four way ICM (Independent Chip Model) chop. As chip leader, she was also awarded a seat into the 2019 LIPS Championship which will be held at The Orleans on June 21st. In July of 2016, Kathi Kelley placed 3rd for $7,074 at that same LIPS Championship Event in Las Vegas.
As a California girl and widow, Kathi’s poker buddy has been her Sister for the past five years. They try to make Ladies Week in Las Vegas each Summer and enjoy playing in the WSOP Senior’s event. They prefer the Bicycle Hotel & Casino for local Poker Tournaments and their favorite casino game, Ultimate Texas Hold’em. Kathi loves her job of 23 years as a Travel Nurse Recruiter. Her passion for poker started by playing in a weekly home game with 8 men, she was the only female.

Living in Southern California I have my choice of casinos within an hour or two drive, however when it comes to tournaments I prefer the Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens. I played my first live tourney there over twenty years ago and I was hooked! I’m not much of a cash player, tournament structures seem to fit my style of play. The Tournament Directors at the Bike always do their best to take care of us. Being a part of LIPS, WPA, and Senior Poker Tour, I’ve had the pleasure of playing several tournaments each year and love playing with the ladies. Winning the Queen of Hearts LIPS tournament at the Bike was a wonderful experience and I’m looking forward to the LIPS Championship during Ladies Week in Las Vegas.
