Women’s Poker Association teams up with the Australian Poker Tour

Press Release: 23 April 2021 Melbourne Australia

The Women’s Poker Association based in Las Vegas is excited to announce a ground-breaking partnership with the popular and respected Australian Poker Tour.

The new partnership supports all women in poker and will be providing more ladies events on the APT tour circuit. The WPA is an all-volunteer non-profit organization, whose mission is to elevate and empower all women who enjoy poker while providing a voice for women in a normally male dominated industry. WPA hosts the circuit’s ladies event final tables with lots of new and exciting final table swag. WPA also features the winners in the WPA International Player of the Year program.

This partnership provides a platform for Australian women to play in more poker events and gain better global exposure with international acknowledgement across WPA’s international network.
The all-new re-launch of the partnership will take place at the highly anticipated APT Sydney event on 21 – 27 of June 2021 at the Cube. The Sydney event has 31 events with buy ins ranging from $80 – $5000 and an estimated prize pool of $1,750,000.

WPA President Lupe Soto said the new re- launch of the partnership is an important and exciting step for Women’s Poker. “Australia has always been at the forefront of poker and this partnership is no different. The success of WPA is to reach women across the globe and support them in their poker playing journey. This wonderful relationship with APT creates another avenue to achieve this goal and to help support operators who support women as we grow the game together.” Said Ms. Soto.

Peter Perceval owner of the APT is excited with the relaunch of the WPA partnership and ready to welcome more ladies to poker. “The APT are thrilled to be supporting all women in poker and look forward to welcoming more ladies to poker in any capacity.” Mr Perceval said in a statement.
